Marlene Wohlmuth
adult trainer
I work as a trainer in adult education, focusing on communication, mindset, and entrepreneurship. Thanks to my professional experience in various industries—from hospitality to IT and advertising to management consulting—I bring a broad economic perspective to the table. In my workshops, I support young people and adults in developing key future skills such as communication, self-confidence, entrepreneurial thinking, and problem-solving. It is particularly important to me to create an appreciative learning atmosphere in which people discover their strengths and develop the courage to implement their own ideas.

Career
My journey has been anything but straightforward—and that’s exactly what makes it worthwhile.
When I was 18, I packed my bags and moved to London on my own—with the clear goal of finding a job within six weeks. Otherwise, I’d have to fly back home. Of course, I’d imagined it would be much easier. But after four weeks, I found a job at a great restaurant near Baker Street. That experience taught me that we’re capable of so much when we really set our minds to it.
While I was in college, I worked at a 4-star hotel in Italy. There, too, a great deal of initiative was required. To better serve our Italian-speaking guests, I took a language course at the hotel and was subsequently able to perform my duties in all three languages—German, English, and Italian.
While I was still in my master’s program, I stood on a big stage and pitched to investors. I helped build a startup, establish structures, and develop financial plans. After that, I worked in management consulting, in a hotel—where I quickly negotiated a position for myself that didn’t even exist before—in the real estate industry, and at an advertising agency.
Eventually, I'd had enough, so I quit my job to start my own business and share what I'd learned.
I started out in an industry I had never worked in before. If I had done a market analysis first, I probably would never have gone into business for myself. Nevertheless, it was very important to me to delve deeply into the subject matter and build up theoretical knowledge. That’s why I completed the master’s module in Communication, Intervention, and Cooperation at the University of Graz and the trainer training program at WIFI. There, I built on what I was still lacking: teaching methods, communication, and group leadership.
Today, I help people stand up for themselves, develop technical and social skills, and gain greater clarity.
